There are plenty of ways of getting to the property, listed below are some options. We encourage you to coordinate traveling with other residents. You can post on this page of the blog if you have space in your car or are in need of a ride, etc. It may even make sense if you wanted to get a group together to rent a car.

Look for the Lodge with an ACRE flagĀ on the left hand side.
*please note that google maps may tell you something slightly different, however, we have found in our own travels to the farm that the above directions are the least confusing.

If you are unable to drive directly to the farm and must take a bus or plane. we will arrange to pick you up in Madison, the nearest major city. As soon as you have booked your flight/bus let us know you arrival times and locations. We prefer that you plan to arrive between 11am and 8pm on the first day of your session. Once we have everyone’s arrival times we will coordinate 2-3 pick up times so that we can make as few trips back and forth to Madison as possible. It is also important that you inform us of your departure information so that we can coordinate bringing you back to Madison as well.

There are three options here: you canĀ fly into one of Chicago’s Airports, Milwaukee (MKE) OR Madison (MSN). It appears that flying into Chicago or Milwaukee is the cheapest option. We will only make pick-ups in Madison, so if you do decide to fly to Chicago or Milwaukee you will have to find further transportation to Madison. Carpooling with other residents is highly suggested.
People of Session 2: I have a Ford Focus with a pretty good size trunk. I think I could manage to take at least two people, maybe three. Let me know if anyone in Chicago needs a ride.
Hey! Sure! Me and Thorne could use a ride for Session 2. YAY!
Hi,
If you end up having room for a third, I’d be grateful for a ride!
Thanks,
Aliza
Hi,
I am flying in from Florida to Chicago on the 16th. Is there anybody driving from Chicago that I can hitch a ride with?
Sorry I forgot to mention that I am in session three.
I’m hitting up a few friends to see if someone will do me a favor. Let me know if you are interested and we can split the cost to make it worth their while. The more the merrier (and cheaper and less carbon and all that).
I can’t make any promises myself yet… I’m still looking for a ride myself.
if anyone plans to drive from chicago from session one please let me know, i dont have much stuff and havent booked my ticket yet so am flexible, thanks!
Hey Aliza, I think a third would be no problem as long as no one is bringing a lot of stuff or anything really large.
Let’s just talk about meeting up and leaving times more as the date approaches.
Hey Matt,
Great, thanks! I just saw your message on here…sorry for not replying sooner. I don’t have anything big to bring. But yea, lets talk more as the date comes up and hopefully it’ll work out. Thanks again.
I’ll be driving through Pittsburgh and Chicago on my way out for the first session. My station wagon has bike racks and a big trunk, so I could pick up a few people on the way.
hi elina. id be interested in meeting you in chicago, what day will u be there? are u gonna do the same route back?
Hi Elina,
I’m looking for a ride to the first session for myself and friend Adam Grossi. I think we’d love to bring our bikes too. Do you have room for two more. We’ll split gas $ (of course) and pack snacks!
hi Elina, as in Malkin? Then, double hello. I also could use a lift from Chicago for Session 1. I (rather uncharacteristically) will not be bringing much with me, likely a roll of paper and a backpack. Holler if you have space. Looking forward to seeing you!
Hey, Adam!
I can probably fit all three of you if no one has too much stuff. I can put three bikes on my roof. Denise, do you have a bike, too? I’ll be leaving from Chicago on July 21st.
Hi Elina,
Great! I would definitely like a ride, if that still works for you. Want to email me to confirm details? jenny@jennykendler.com
Thank you!!!
Second Sessioners, I’m also driving from Chicago. If anyone else needs a ride, let me know. We can listen to hot jamz and of course, Delilah.
Hey EJ,
I’m tentatively driving to session 2 from chicago with some other folks but the car would be a little full. If you still have room could I catch a ride?
Hey Aliza,
Absolutely. I still have plenty of room.
Hey EJ,
Think you have room for one more for the drive back to Chicago after ACRE finishes? I’ve got a way there, but not back.
Val
Hey, I will be driving my car up for session 1. If anyone still needs a ride I am more than happy to carpool and have room for 1 or 2 depending on stuff quotient.
Hi Mara,
I am in need of a ride for session 1, if there is room for me. I’m don’t have much stuff, probably two reams of paper and some clothes but can shrink if need be. I can split gas, snacks, stories etc. Let me know!
hi mara,
if you have room for a second person heading to session 1 from chicago, i’m in need of a ride. i’ll have one or two bags with me. mostly clothes and some drawing supplies.
let me know!
thanks!
-rebecca
Karen and Rebecca. Sorry for the slow reply. I have one person riding with me currently. I have a toyota corrolla and think I could fit both of you pretty comfortably as long as the bags are pretty minimal. Send me an email marabaker@gmail.com if you are still looking and we can figure it out.
Mara
Session three coming up from Chicago. Is there anyone else? I’d like to contribute to someone who has a vehicle rather than chartering or cashing in a favor.
I am arriving in Madison from New York on July 21 late and will probably stay the night. Is anyone travelling from Madison for session 1 on the 22nd?
Hey:
Alex Chitty here.
Looking for a ride out of Chicago for Session 2.
Give me a shout if you have space in your stallion and would delight in some company and gas $.
thanks

Hi All,
Jennifer Montgomory will be driving from and to Chicago on start and end dates of the first session (July 21 & Aug 1) and has room in her car for one or two people depending on how much stuff each has.
Please email info@acre if you’re interested!
Thanks!
I’ll be driving from Madison for session III and will likely have room in my car for at least on other person if anyone needs a ride. Just send me an e-mail: hikyla@gmail.com
-Kyla.
I need a place in Chicago to crash the for night of July 20th. Does anyone have a couch or floor to lend?
I’ve got a couch, I live in Bridgeport off the Red Line (35th/Sox stop). Let me know.
Thanks,
I found a place!
If anyone is heading up on the 21st for session 1 and has room, I could use a ride. I know it’s late notice, but let me know. I have very little in way of stuff and am happy to throw in some dollars for petrol.
I had some people have changes in plans. I definitely have room if minimal stuff. E-mail me if you still need a ride.

Hi Everyone,
I’m looking for a ride from Chicago and back for Session 2. I promise to pack light, bake some delicious cookies, and put in some money for gas.
Thanks!
